I spent time visiting you at your place and on the same day, I organised a time for a qoute. I was pretty surprised as I was given after hours appointment. I called the next day to confirm time/date and I even found another potential customer for who lives nearby. I took some time off to make sure I will be home on time. I waited and waited, and even called a couple of times, and finally I spoke with someone who totally denied that we had organised a time. He told me perhaps I got the date/time mixed up. I contacted the office today (10/11/2011) and although female staff member remembered my name and phone call, she did not find any formal booking. Unlike the guy that I spoke to, she apologised for what happened. Am I going to recommend Starline Security to friends? Definitely not.



Hi Mr Cirrus I sincerely apologise for missing your quote. After years and thousands of quote bookings we have missed yours. I can only offer excuses (which doesn't really help), however we have just employed Sharon (our new Office Manager who started with us on Monday 7th November). She recognises that she has made a mistake when booking your quote in our CRM system. When you are learning a new system sometimes you make mistakes and Sharon has actually been extremely quick to learn and after only one week is doing what I consider to be a fantastic job. Maybe not with your booking but in general I could not be happier with her work and how fast she is picking things up and how efficient she is. Further, when you rang to confirm and tell me about the other client (who lives nearby) and said you had made a booking that phone call was after hours and came through to me on my mobile. I cannot look and check in our client booking system while driving and just assumed that Sharon, or my wife Kathy, had made a booking with you for the next day. When we missed your quote and you rang (6:12pm) and rang (6:26pm,6:27pm & 6:31pm) I called you back at 8:04pm and said that I was sorry but that I did not have you down on my list of scheduled quote bookings for that day but that I would get the office to check in the morning and re-schedule if possible. You told me not to bother! It is disappointing to miss quotes like this and upset clients and while we do everything we can to train staff to eliminate mistakes like this, staff do sometimes make mistakes (especially on their first or second day after starting with us) and we hope that all past or future clients recognise this for what it is. A mistake that we are very sorry for...

He wasn't late. He is a very pleasant youg man, who worked quietly and efficiently. My newly screened balcony door and 2 windows look BRILLIANT and I'm VERY pleased that I used your Company.
Your prompt reply to my request and eagerness to juggle your jobs/tradesmen to work in with me, was much appreciated.
I won't hesitate to use you again and recommend you to others.
(Earlier in the year, I used 'another Company' to install a new, screened security front-door, and new blinds in the lounge room, kitchen and bedroom. Their work was badly done, and I'm still rueing the day I chose their services!!) MANY THANKS again, Cheryl F.

{client email reply} This will be fine as long as you are on time, This will be the forth go at installation and I would be unwilling to wait around anymore when I should be working. When we agreed to work there were 2 dates scheduled, ! to do some woodwork & 1 to fit screens ,this sounded great. Since then we have had 1 for wood work, 1 for 3 screens, 1 No Show, 1 attempt at installing the front door screen and 1 now to finish job. Not exactly what we thought the process would be like.

OUCH... Negative Feedback! Mark didn't actually post this - just emailed his frustration to me - but I felt all feedback, both good and bad, should be posted. Mark's Custom Steel entry door was a difficult one but despite our best efforts we did take 4 times to get this one right [as stated job should have taken 2 times - one for carpentry work and one for install of steel grilles and door]. So what happened? Site visit 1: Entry door carpentry work & check measure completed - all good. Site visit 2: The custom steel door didn't arrive in time so we installed the steel grilles (Marks reaction: where's my door?). Site visit 3: Install door - the bug strip was 50mm too short and couldn't be fitted to the door and another piece needed re-doing.(Marks reaction - not another site return needed). Site visit 4: Finally Finish. As for the "no show", I am not aware of a no show but we'll accept this punishing review in full. Believe me I don't like reviews like this. But then we need to know if, when and where we are letting clients down so I and my team knows about it and I can push through further improvements to ensure mistakes are kept to an absolute minimum in the future. You were well under the other quotes we received for the first job we had done so it was nice not to have to worry about getting comparison quotes for the second job, and we were happy with the price. Very prompt service from start to finish and Ben even spent time adjusting our first set of door screens to ensure we had a perfect fit. We would recommend Starline to our friends.

I rang on a public holiday and asked for a quote and received about 4 different quotes for the different products in the range within one hour.

Naturally I gathered quotes from 3 other companies and some took up to a week to get back to me and some never did!!!

The customer service I received from everyone in this company was fantastic and my windows and doors in my new home look fabulous.

I am in an industry where sales ans customer service are our priority so I am very pleased to have dealt with a company that has not only sold me a quality product at a realistic price but also gave me the highest customer service that I expect.

Ok. Wow - thank you. Need I say more! ....A note on public holidays:- Our sales staff 'sometimes' work public holidays as there is substantially less vehicle traffic on these days. It makes getting around to everyone on time much easier. However, I don't make it compulsory to work public holidays but instead give staff the option to take another "better day for them" in lue. (I think the fancy Human Resources term for this is "workplace flexibility") We also don't religiously "man the phones" on public holidays so you may get the answering machine.

Starline installed all of the security and fly screen windows and doors to my home 3 years ago. After completing renovations just recently, both Ben and Bradley again, quoted and installed additional security screens. I had a security screen that was left over from the renovations. When Ben was quoting, he checked the size and it fitted perfectly into a window that only had a fly screen. Ben removed the fly screen and fitted the security screen on the spot. Thank you Ben and Bradley for a prompt and quality service in both instances.

Far too often consumers and building industry participants concentrate on only one aspect:- Price.
